Introducing Save Blaina Fire Station

I will be as brief as possible as there is much work to be done and I am hoping that you, the people of Blaina and surrounding areas will assist in that work.

This site has been created to gather and provide information to the relevant Fire Authorities and those that have influence with the relevant authorities, that will make them reconsider closing down Blaina Fire Station and to look at other means of making savings without endangering lives, making people unemployed and destroying a vital part of Blaina community.

The site will be posting information on just who the main players are on both sides, details on the history of Blaina Fire Station, those who have worked for it, those who work for it now and those who have died for it, as well as those people defending it now.

I am sure that some of the information I first post will be incorrect and I am equally sure that once you correct me, I will amend the information I post to ensure that it is then correct.

Everyone is free, in fact, encouraged to comment and make suggestions although I have enabled moderation in the first instance to see how things go but please remember to keep your comments civilized, as we do not wish for foolish comments to overshadow our arguments.

Please link this site wherever you can and check back on a regular basis as it will be updated at least once or twice a day until the Battle to Save Our Station is won.

Please also note that this site is a non political party site as this issue effects us all, neither is this site intended to be in competition with other Blaina Fire Station supporting sites but is here to complement them and link to them to make more people aware of them.

  1. Having lost my mother in a fire, I of all people know how important it is to have a local service that can respond quickly and not have to travel miles to the scene. All the best with your campaign Paul.

  2. I wish you all the best Paul with your campaign. Blaina fire station is an important part of the local community and all efforts must be made to prevent its closure.

As you correctly point out in the article, people 'have died for it' and I believe it is an insult to their memory to close it down to save money.

Blaina fire station must remain open and continue to be there for the local people should they need its service.

Keep fighting and the battle shall be won.

  3. This is why local emergency services need to be keep open because they provide a quicker response to the local and surrounding areas when they are in need of help. It's a disgrace that they are proposing to close the Fire station which will cause more problems and the next one would probably end up being miles away which will take ages to turn up. There are many reasons why it has to stay open and it will bring more opportunities to the young people to become a fireman.

Good luck Paul and keep fighting to keep the fire station open for the sake of the community!
